Canva and the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF) are teaming up to bring creativity, career exploration, and design experience to high school students across California. Students in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Esports Initiative are invited to step into the role of graphic designers and explore creative career pathways within the esports ecosystem. 

Beyond the Game Challenges are designed to help students tap into their talents apart from competitive gaming, exploring a wide range of careers that support esports. In this challenge, students will use Canva to create logos that represent their school esports teams and the CIF Esports Spring 2026 season. This challenge is open to students enrolled in high schools and participating in the CIF Esports Initiative x NASEF.

Students and educators will receive free access to Canva, along with training resources to support design work. Selected designs will be celebrated online, and Canva is providing printing certificates so that winning logos can be printed as stickers for schools and championship events.

Two ways to participate:

1. School Design Challenge

Each participating school can run its own competition to design a “CIF Esports Spring 2026” logo for its school’s esports team(s) using Canva.

How it works:

• Schools select their own winning logo 
• Designs must be submitted to NASEF by March 16, 2026. All student designs can be submitted to NASEF for possible showcase; the winning logo MUST be submitted for prizing.
• NASEF will highlight student work on its website and social media channels
• Canva will provide a printing voucher valued at $25 to each school to enable them to print 24 2-inch round stickers of the selected logo. (Schools may purchase additional stickers if desired.) This free printing offer is limited to the first 200 schools that register.

2. Commemorative Sticker for Championship Event

In addition to school designs, all students are invited to design a commemorative logo or graphic for the Spring 2026 CIF Esports Championship. 

How it works: 

• All designs must include the word NASEF or its trophy logo, along with the word CIF and the year 2026. Find official logos here.  
• Submit designs to NASEF for consideration. Student work will be highlighted on the NASEF website and social media channels. 
• Selected logos will be printed on stickers with the design to be distributed at the live Finals event.

To ensure student data privacy and access to premium Canva features, we strongly recommend that participating schools ensure they are using Canva Education accounts. All K-12 schools and districts worldwide are eligible for Canva Education, and can sign up for district-wide deployments (or school-wide deployments for non-district schools) at www.canva.com/education/schools.
