New Collaboration Brings Traditional Sports and Virtual Reality Training to Youth Around the World
[Atlanta, March 24, 2025] – VTEC, a leading online program for schools designed to teach tennis and esports using engaging Virtual Reality (VR) technology, has announced a new partnership with the Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations (NASEF), a global NGO dedicated to empowering youth through competitive gaming. This collaboration marks a significant expansion of NASEF’s educational offerings, blending esports with traditional sports training in an immersive virtual environment.
NASEF has long provided educators with the framework and support to build programs that connect students’ passion for video games and esports to potential career pathways. With a focus on developing essential “soft skills,” the not-for-profit organization has created a platform that fosters personal growth while also providing a strong educational foundation in career development and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields. NASEF’s tournaments in popular gaming titles already serve as a launching pad for youth interested in careers within the esports industry. Now, with the addition of VTEC's cutting-edge VR technology, NASEF is broadening its reach to include traditional sports—offering new opportunities for students with a possible pathway to the Olympic Esports Games.
"With Olympic Esports Games on the horizon, NASEF is excited to engage youth in esports that replicate traditional sports like tennis," said Gerald Solomon, Executive Director of NASEF. "VTEC's virtual reality environment offers dynamic instruction to help players level up their skills. This collaboration will bring the excitement of tennis tournaments to youth in NASEF programs around the world—supporting everyone from beginners to Olympic Esports hopefuls."
VTEC uses a mixture of videos and quizzes reinforced with VR training using the world's most realistic tennis experience, Tennis Esports. As part of this collaboration, students will benefit from interactive lessons designed not only to enhance their tennis skills, but also promote STEAM analysis teamwork, and cultivate the leadership qualities necessary for success both in gaming and in life. The partnership aims to reach global audiences, ensuring that young athletes and esports enthusiasts have access to the tools they need to succeed in competitive environments and beyond.
By uniting the fast-paced world of esports with traditional sports like tennis, VTEC and NASEF are opening new doors for students to explore exciting career pathways and further develop skills that will be vital for future success.
