Middle School and High School Esports-Centric Curricula
Esports is undeniably popular as a digital platform for interaction and entertainment. NASEF capitalizes on interest-based learning, capturing student attention through esports. We sought explicit connections between esports and content standards (Next Generation Science Standards, English—Language Arts, International Society for Technology in Education, and Social Emotional Learning) and have developed curriculum for middle school and high school students in a variety of learning environments. STEM education is integrated with workforce sectors and industries in order to attract more students and create engaging, applicable courses.

Career Technical Education
NASEF has created innovative and immersive career- and college-relevant education. These CTE educational programs or “grids” are purposefully aligned to the 15 Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways established by the California State Department of Education. This multiyear sequence integrates core academic and technical knowledge.
Middle School
In partnership with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) and local middle school administrators and educators from Orange County, NASEF has published 9-week series of modules of integrated programs of study, focusing on esports as a means of facilitating transference of concepts and skills that incorporate CA CCSS, NGSS, ISTE and SEL standards that are appropriate for the target student demographic.
Out-of-School Time
In partnership with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) and local middle school administrators and educators from Orange County, NASEF has published 9-week series of modules of integrated programs of study, focusing on esports as a means of facilitating transference of concepts and skills that incorporate CA CCSS, NGSS, ISTE and SEL standards that are appropriate for the target student demographic.
Health and Wellness Learning
NASEF, along with its partners the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, UCI Esports, Dr. Wayne Jonas, and the San Diego County Department of Education partnered to create health and wellness lesson plans for scholastic esports. Our framework addresses four domains of youth life that reveal skills and attributes that impact health and well-being.
Community Library
We have had a diverse group of educators from around the world participate as NASEF Scholastic Fellows. These educators innovate for young people, other educators, and their communities. NASEF Scholastic Fellows created their own unique curriculum module that reflects the lesson plans and activities they facilitated with their students during their participation in the program.
NASEF Scholastic Fellows
The NASEF Scholastic Fellow Program provides a professional learning community, mentorship, tools, resources and instructional coaching for educators interested in connecting esports and learning in schools and out-of-school time / community-based organizations across the globe.
